C. 1980's 14k yellow gold ring, set with a rich tomato red carnelian cabochon. The carnelian is set in a high bezel, flanked by stepped carvings cascading down the shoulders. Tapers into a half-rounded, narrow band at the back. A slightly architectural, postmodern take on a classical shape.
